February. The month of transition. Not quite winter. Not quite spring. We are somewhere in-between. Here in the PNW there are small spring buds popping through. The frogs have begun their croaking. The morning may begin with a clear sunny sky and by mid-day the damp cold settles back into the sky and rain begins to fall. The beginning signs of the enlivening nature of the spring season are apparent yet the dark of winter still threads it’s quiet power into each day.
Inviting you to pause and notice this shift. What is feeling different for you? How do you mark these transitional moments in the year? Are you being called to make subtle shifts in your daily routines of self-care and reflection with the subtle shifts that are happening around you?
We welcome the month of February with introducing a newer oil (to us anyway), Copaiba. Harvested in South America from the Copaiba tree from the tropical rainforests. Similar to CBD oil, Copaiba is a safe and effective way to minimize inflammation in the body. “Copaiba’s main chemical constituent is beta-caryophyllene, a phytocannabinoid. A cannabinoid is the name used for anything that interacts with the endocannabinoid system. This system in your body is responsible for helping to regulate the inflammatory system, immune function, sleep, pain receptors, hormones, and more. In short, the effect Copaiba can have on your health and wellness is vastly intricate, dynamic, and significant.*”

We chose to highlight Copaiba for the month of February because of it’s positive support for all the major systems of the body. In this transitional time of the year, we may bounce into moments of feeling off, stressed, uneasy, and anxious. Copaiba is there to support us and gives us that unique boost of calm balanced support.
See more of the benefits below and stayed tuned for ways to use this oil and our special of the month later in February.
Wishing you a calm and productive first week of February.

Not all oils are created equal
Unfortunately, most oils on the market have the potential to be harmful for your health. There are a handful of brands that we recommend at Altar. Some we sell, some we do not. Please consult with us if you have questions on where to purchase your oils. We want you to thrive and using essential oils as part of your health regime can help you physically, emotionally and energetically. But, we must use oils that are pure and healthy for ourselves and the planet.
