Ally is a movement enthusiast! From dancing to yoga, she loves the full range of motion that exists in work, play, creativity, and contemplation, AND in what she believes to be one of the most productive activities that exists: relaxation. Ally spent a decade of daily regimented strength & conditioning for her collegiate athletic career. Six years ago, she took-up Yin Yoga and discovered that her workouts (active/Yang energy) were missing their counterpart (Yin energy), which answered why she felt so burnt out. Her passion for Yin Yoga grew strong after experiencing the benefits within the body, mind, heart, and how powerful it is to make time to fully restore & strengthen our connective tissues before or after exerting ourselves. She believes having a Yin practice is crucial for our health and well-being in our modern age where ‘on-the-go’ and ‘busy’ have become the norm. Ally is here to teach what she calls The Yin Experience — the art of slowing down — applying an attentive presence and pace to any activity & experience. She refers to this as ‘calm energy.’ The kind that engages focus, rather than the erratic energy we’re used to embodying in our day-to-day getting our to-do’s done, which often leaves us feeling depleted, scattered and wanting to disengage. Yin Yoga promotes the vitality to move through life from a relaxed state, both grounded & flexible. From this place, we drop the mirage of perfection and its relentless, unrealistic standards. Her take away? Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes practice…see you in the studio!
